Sleeping in Denpasar (Bali) Airport - Better Than a Cheap Guest House!

After staying a month in our beautiful villa in Ubud, the time inevitably came for us to pack up, move out, and head on to Seoul. Our flight departed the Nghura Rhai Denpasar Airport at 6am, so instead of paying to sleep at a guest house, we decided to save money and sleep in the airport.

Walking from our villa to the cab which takes us to the airport - someone isn't happy to leave!

We had no idea what to expect as our only previous time at Denpasar airport was when we arrived and were quickly poached by cabbies offering terrible rates. Thankfully, sleeping in the Denpasar airport was really comfortable!

First of all, the airport offers free, fast, no-time-limit WiFi. Perfect for long waits. Also, if you want to check out Kuta during the day (I wouldn't spend any more than a day here), there is a luggage storage service for 50,000 rupiah per bag.

For sleeping - head up to the Departures floor and find the large Bintang Lounge Bar. The seating area here has a lineup of about 10 small, comfortable black couches that are perfect to doze off in. We weren't asked to buy anything from the bar, but if you are, the cheapest item on the menu is Java Tea for 25,000 rupiah.

The Bintang Bar in Denpasar Airport - home to the infamous comfy black couches.

After a quick sleep in the comfy couch from 11pm-4am, it really hit us that we were actually leaving this beautiful island, as we dropped our baggage off and made our way to our gate. See you next time, Bali!
