If you're deciding where in Vietnam to buy a fake North Face jacket - pick Hue!
Our current "jackets" (more like shells!) just weren't cutting it in Vietnam's rainy season
We travelled to Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, and Saigon and found they were the cheapest - by far - in Hue. Luckily, we decided to buy ours in Hue before heading further south.
The best selection of fake North Face Jackets in Hue is on the street "Le Duan". If staying in the centre, head northwest up Hung Vuong and go over the bridge. Instead of turning right to the Truong Tien Plaza with the large Coop Supermarket, turn left onto Tran Hung Dao. This turns into Le Duan and as you walk southwest along the street you will see all of the North Face shops on your right.

We found the prices in all of the stores to be fairly similar. We were looking for a certain colour for Victoria, so we probably went into six or seven of these shops before deciding on one.

Our jackets cost 450,000 dong (approx. $25) each. Be sure to get yours in Hue, as in Hanoi, Hoi An, and Saigon they were being sold for 1 million dong!
Our North Face jackets became winter jackets after an impromptu decision to visit chilly Seoul!
We attempted to negotiate the price of the jackets as we were buying two, but the vendor did not budge. We still think it is great value for such a high-quality coat.
